DENTURES IN PHOENIX, AZ

Dentures are false teeth that are used as replacements for missing teeth. Full dentures are created when a patient has lost all of their teeth, and partial dentures are used for replacing multiple missing teeth. Dentures are custom made to fit the patient’s mouth perfectly for maximum performance. Our dentist in Phoenix, AZ, offers implant supported dentures, partials, and full dentures near you at our modern dental office.

Full Dentures

When all teeth in the mouth are missing, replacing them with full dentures is necessary. Full dentures can be either removable or permanent. Permanent dentures are a better solution for most people because they do not move around like removable dentures and are more natural-looking. Dental Therapy offers removable and permanent dentures from our experienced dentist near you, Dr. Tahany Whiting.

After removing the damaged or loose teeth, the dentist will start creating the dentures. While your mouth is healing from the teeth removal, the dentist may provide you with a temporary set of dentures to use. Immediate dentures are typically used during the healing stage, while conventional dentures are crafted to suit the patient’s needs. When the conventional dentures are ready to be worn, they will restore the function and appearance of the patient’s smile.

Partial Dentures

When multiple but not all teeth are missing, partial dentures and a dental bridge may be used. A dental bridge uses the natural teeth on each side to support an artificial tooth to bridge a gap. Partial dentures usually have a pink “gum” which replaces the missing tissues and creates a supportive base for the false teeth. There may also be a metal framework that is used to attach the bridge.

Fixed partial dentures or dental bridges are cemented onto crowns on either adjacent side of the gap. They fix the gap in the teeth and also prevent the teeth from shifting due to the gap. Partial dentures and bridges help to keep the smile looking natural and the teeth/jaw functioning normally. Dr. Tahany Whiting will make you feel completely at ease in the dental chair for the procedure.

Snap on Dentures on Implants

Overdentures

Do you have removable dentures ? Do you have to use glue to keep them in? do you have to apply the glue multiple times a day? Why consider implants under your dentures?

An snap on denture is a denture that is secured onto implants but is still removable. The minimum for lower denture is two implants and for the top denture the minimum required is 4 implants. The number of implants vary based on the quality and density of the bone. Your overall health determines your bone health. There are two main types of dentures. The first is the snap on denture which is removable. Another type is known as all-on-implants which are screwed directly to the implants and cannot be removed (see above section). They are secured on to the jaw and resemble what the natural teeth would look like.

The process can take few months to complete. First, the implants are placed and allowed to heal for 4 to 6 months to allow integration and stability. Next, the dentures are made to be retro-fitted to the jaw & implants and secured directly to the implants. You can then eat and chew on the denture while it’s snapped on the implants for secured biting and chewing. No more glue, no more mess.

Benefits of overdentures on implants:
